Specializing in Theme Parties

Favorite Old Skool Songs: Fantastic Voyage, Flashlight…..

How did we start you ask? The answer is simple; we were bored. Yes, bored. The social life in Knoxville for adults was dry and we were ready to get together with our friends and family and in one setting and have a great time…and not just at a barbeque or at someone’s reception! So we met with Bobby Flemmings and Anthony Kimbrough at the Magnolia Cafe and shared some ideas with them.  During that initial conversation, Anthony said “Throw a party”.  Well it was simple, decide on a name, theme, invite some folks and see what happens. The name needed to be something catchy that would draw the people out so as we thought about it, we realized we had always been referred to as “those Wright Girls” and so the name and the ideal fit.  The rest is history.

Our first event “Caribbean Night” was held on Saturday, July 7, 2007. Bernard Humphrey “The Jazz Master” was our Emcee and DJ for the evening. The crowd showed up and showed out and our problem of a dry social scene was solved……

In Loving Memory of Vickie Lynn Wright Wilson “Miss Vickie”
The Wright Girl Production INSPIRATION

Our beloved cousin Vickie Wright-Wilson “Miss Vickie” had just been diagnosed with breast cancer and even though she was recovering from a mastectomy she was excited about our event. Okay, let me see…I think she called me about 3 times while I was getting ready for the party….boy was she a social butterfly…and she really enjoyed socializing. She came in dragging her best friend Shelia and her sister Estella. These parties really gave Vickie something to do and she was able to relax and come together with family and friends. We really believe that it helped her to take her mind off her illness… and she danced the night away not to mention that she was the line dance queen. Whenever we would decide that this would be our last event, Vickie would call and ask when the next party was. We kept going and going only because she did. Vickie had her own private table and her table was always filled with Café Celebrities because Vickie was a Shinning Star. Vickie taught us how to live life to its fullest and with no regrets.  We lost Vickie on January 10, 2009. We didn’t host another party until May 22, 2009. As usual her table was reserved because we know that she was with us in spirit……

We love you “Miss Vickie”  you are forever a Wright Girl!!!!!!!
