The Sax Man JERALD DUNN

Hi! I’m Jerald Dunn and welcome to my webpage.  I was born and raised in Augusta, GA, the hometown of the Godfather of Soul James Brown. I started playing drums at the age of 5 and loved it for many years. I started singing in the youth choir around the age of 8 and sang my first church solo shortly after. My mother was so proud of me and as a gospel singer she has been my inspiration. Even though she has gone home to glory she will always be my inspiration. When I was in the 6th grade my heart was to play the drums but when I was offered to learn how to play the tenor saxophone and I gave it a try. I use to sit at home with my sax and songs would come on and I would learn the notes and play it back. I fondly remember listening to the Gap Band and playing every song.  At an early age I fell deep in love with music and have had that passion ever since.

There is so much going on in my life now and music continues to be my inspiration. I have also been inspired by James Brown, Gerald Albright, Grover Washington, Kenny G, John Coltrane, my band teachers, Sherry Puryear, Charles Buton, John P. Kee, Kirk Whalum , J Moss, Whitney Houston, Antonio Allen, Michael Jackson and Kelly Price. As you see I love a variety of music styles which reflects in my style of music.

I currently live in Hiram, GA outside of Atlanta, GA. and have been working with U-N-I Media on my new and upcoming neo-soul gospel jazz CD called “Journey Back to Life.” More updates on my new CD are coming soon! If you are in need of a great soprano saxophone player please give me a call. I play for church events, festivals, weddings, school event and special occasions.

I am very proud to have been a part of the gospel play "The Lost Son" under Sheron Weston, founder of Weston Christian Production. This play featured actors such as Terrell Carter and Little G Gary all from Tyler Perry plays. I have also been featured on “Let’s Talk 57 with pastor Tracy Wells.
